A GLIMPSE IN OUR
Experimental Garden
permaculture in action
Chef Erling works in the here and now as much as possible.
Here: with the best and most passionate suppliers from this region. Who, just as we do, have the best in mind for nature.
And now: with the most delicious seasonal produce that nature offers us.
At the moment we have three so-called permaculture gardens in the city, where the flora, fauna and elements are working together naturally. These nursery gardens, set up by the Aardwerk cooperation, lie on the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven terrain, the High Tech Campus and in Park Forum, Meerhoven. Volunteers both care for and gratefully make use of the yield. Just like we do: as a donator we give a financial contribution in return for everything that we use from the gardens, in our kitchen. We also make recipes based on what has been planted in the gardens and develop workshops to help others to maintain a permaculture garden at home.
Energizing Food Experiences
MINKOWSKI
Chef Erling is Minkowski’s culinary chef. The organisation is named after Hermann Minkowski, a German mathematician and one of Albert Einstein’s teachers. It mirrors how they see their role: facilitators and enablers who help others build better futures. Just like Hermann Minkowski helped Einstein on his way. Their ambition is to enable a million Einsteins to make history by changing the future, and in doing so, make the world a little better.
Minkowski is a network of experienced business professionals that merge strategy, futures thinking, leadership and development to help people in organizations activate their plans.
Chef Erling connects people by sharing food stories and offers custom made food programs for participants during events. He always creates the right combinations of food to get the best energy that will empower participants.
Helicon MBO Helmond
2017 & 2018
In the autumn of 2017 Chef Erling cared for the first six guest lessons for the first year students of Helicon MBO Helmond, studying Nutrition and Wellbeing. The mission: to inspire these youths, to help them consider a healthy and sustainable future and to introduce them to and work with sustainable produce and ingredients from the region. At the end of the series the students presented their self developed products, such as eco-muffins, mealworm-flour waffles and other interesting dishes.
Food Story in Mondriaan
VAN ABBE MUSEUM EINDHOVEN
A minimalistic black and white composition from artist Piet Mondriaan formed the inspiration for this culinary project in collaboration with Van Abbe museum. In honor of the Special Guests Symposium, a program addressed on how people with disabilities can experience art in the museum, Chef Erling created a stimulating lunch which helped them see, smell, feel and - of course - taste Mondriaan.
Rediscovering Food
TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY EINDHOVEN
Students discovered what good, healthy and unforgettably tasty food is at a workshop by Chef Erling in collaboration with Studium Generale Eindhoven. These upcoming academics - from diverse nationalities - connected and worked together with food and the preparation of it as their tasty guide: that was the purpose of this evening.
Community Activity
EIKENBURG ESTATE EINDHOVEN
In the summer of 2018 a new monastery forest garden opened. This amazing project is based on the connection between living, caring, and education. A "contemporary interpretation of monastic life" in which the cultivation of healthy food should not be missing. Together with Aardacademy we organised a culinary tour along the city fields for this opening, and ended with a picnic to stimulate the sense of community and connectivity among vegetable gardeners. The participants ranged from residents of the Monastery Lofts to those from St. Anna monastery, Brothers of Charity and neighbors from Eikenburg - De Roosten.
